As a bit of fun we ran a search on Seek today to see how many jobs there were in Christchurch that were paying more than 200k.

 We had Five results returned and these were for (in no particular order)

 1.Business Services Manager / Branch Manager (Private Advertiser)
2.Day Spa Manager/Therapist ALPINE SPRINGS/SPA & WINTER PARK
3.Group GM HR
4.PSYCHIATRIST OutReach Recruitment
5.Master Franchise: Mobile Windscreen Repair/Replacement: Christchurch

It appears there are a wide variety of businesses that are prepared to pay a large salary for the right person.

Did you know that, most high profile, high prestige or high salary job vacancies do not make it to press or jobboard. A high proportion of the positions that command strategic positioning, high salaries, great perks are taken by internal workers, filled by search and selection companies or taken by pro-active jobseekers that have very finely tuned CV’s sent  spec to targeted companies.

As a former recruitment director, I’m amazed at how many CV’s are often sent for certain positions while other positions seem to receive little attention and even go begging though they represent an outstanding opportunity that they have not been advertised correctly. Highly memorable CV’s are often sent on spec from enterprising individuals that know their marketplace and are pro-active rather than re-active! The bottom line is that a well written CV, cover letter or job advert fulfils it’s obligations.

Anyway, back to our list.

I have to say earning 200k+ as a ‘Day Spa manager” does seem quite appealing!  However,  it would likely that I would complete far less management and much more time on quality control and testing! oh well.
